How to correctly pass a soccer ball

Passing is the beat of soccer. Without this skill, the sport would be undefined. Basic Passing Method

The basic passing method is much straight-forward. For this type of passing, One foot will be utilized to hit the ball, while the other foot will be used to keep a connection with the ground. The following is often introduced to as the “plant foot.”

The plant foot should be set right about even with the soccer ball.

The kicking foot should rotate through and reach the ball with a strong ankle.

By “strong ankle,” we intend that the foot should not be weak. Rather, it should remain approximately stable throughout connection and follow-through.

As for the touch point on foot itself, the core of the foot offers the most significant control for smaller passes.

For the longer passes, the top part of the foot where the laces usually are located can offer a good blend of power and efficiency.

As for where to strike on the soccer ball, the lower you hit the ball, the more attic the ball will have.

The higher you hit on the ball, the weaker the trajectory will typically be.

Players can place up anywhere from 5 to 15 yards away from one another to exercise short passes.

Lingering on their toes between passes can help athletes to stay active and engaged.

Players can begin off with light-to-medium speed and progressively work up to high-velocity passes.

A comprehensive pass has sufficient speed to reach a player instantly, but not so much velocity that they’ll have difficulty controlling it.

To produce balanced players, they should exercise an equal number of passes with both feet.

The gathering teammate should focus on “softening” the incoming pass to have it close to their body.

Trap, Push, Pass Drill

This training adds a little of dynamic action to the execution of basic passing and trapping while also joining in some light foot abilities work.

Have two teens soccer players stand 10-15 steps away from one another.

Every player should have a cone in a yard or two in front of them.

As player one moves the ball to player two, player two should catch the ball, then use the edge of their foot to drive it to the other side of the cone, then use that same foot to give a pass back to their partner.

As player two is catching and pushing the ball, player one should “give” on the other side of the cone to get the ball.

Repeat that same order with player one now catching, pushing and passing back to player two.

Keep your ankle secured as you deliver the pass. Do not have a weak foot.

Once both players do total 25 passes, stop and set-up, so they’re now practicing their opposite foot to deliver the pass.
